Education
The Bible is full of scholars and professionals ranging from social workers, teachers, lawyers, carpenters, laymen, physicians and judges. A few examples are Luke and Deborah. The Lord wants us to achieve academically, whether it is through textbook knowledge or hands-on skills. We need to give back to the community using the knowledge He hsa given us.
It's the goal of the education department to hvae ongoing tutorial programs; preparation classes for various standardized exams such as FCAT/ACT/SAT; conducting monthly seminars and lectures ranging in topics from "How do I choose the best school for my child" to "returning to school after many years;" keeping in touch and abreast of our college-age students here and out of town.
While the education department deals with all schools (public, private, charter, etc.), we believe that Christian education is essential, and we look forward to serving our school, Miami Union Academy, with these and other services.
Our plans involve after-school tutorials, GED classes, literacy programs and outreach education programs within our surrounding area. These outreach programs would include mission trips outside of the United States, where students will be able to give back to less-fortunate students through books, supplies, tutorial and music programs. Educational trips will be conducted to visit various colleges and universitites and historical sights.
Education is a continuous process and it impacts all aspects of our church. We are partnering with Home and School Department as well as Vacation Bible School. From the children to the elderly, we will be interacting with several departments to meet the needs of our members and community.
Our fundamental goal is to win souls for heaven through our service in the area of education - achieving the higest degree, the degree of eternal life with Jesus.
Goal = "To achieve your best, remembering the ultimate education is the higher calling."
Aim = "Preparing minds to serve."
Motto = "Higher is God's idea for his children."
