Adventist Youth Society

The Adventist Youth Program in Seventh-Day Adventist Churches is one of the greatest tools being used by our churches to reach the younger generation today.

Within Tabernacle, dedicated and attentive leaders such as Quernande Philossaint and Marlene Jairam, have helped make the program exciting and enjoyable. These days, great scores of youth and other church members flock to the afternoon program to catch a witty skit, a breathtaking musical performance, or an enlightening and potent power point presentation.

The Adventist Youth Program at Tabernacle has also introduced to us many of those members whom we may never have come to know. Coincidentally, through these introductions we have come to know about some of our more quiet members, these include Rhyanne Carrington, a student poet; and Toko Caputini who is currently a young deaconess at our church.

Furthermore, segments such as News and Views have been reestablished in order to keep us informed of ongoing religious news that affect our weekly worship services and our lives. Tabernacle also incorporates the weekly devotional, which encourages the youth and the wise to commit to memory the weekly texts to spiritual strength for their weekly trials.

One point that youth leaders have been greatly emphasizing is the importance of AY during the Sabbath. As children growing in the church, we tend to view AY as less holy than Divine Hour. However, this is not the case. In a move to portray that the entire

Sabbath as holy, requests have been made that people dress and behave as they would during Divine hour. This has reawakened a spirit of reverence within the church about the holiness of the entire day.

Spectacular programs like these established by magnanimous leaders and their teams keep Tabernacle's Youth Ministry afloat and very much alive and reverent. We can only hope and pray that as this two-year term continues the Lord will bless Tabernacle's AY leaders, participants, and attendees.
